Something to Watch - Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere

Bruce Springsteen. Not to be confused with the shark from Finding Nemo. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, he’s the guy who sings Born in the USA. If you are a fan of his, you probably talk about him constantly. Don’t worry. It’s not annoying at all.

Portrayed by the beef king of Chicagoland, Jeremy Allen White, this biopic is hot on the tail of last year’s hit, A Complete Unknown, which, you will probably assume is similar to this film. Let us tell you - it is not. In many ways this is probably the least like any other musician biopic you’ve ever seen - focusing solely on a small period of Bruce’s life while he wrote his album Nebraska.

Often moving like an abacus, it’s constantly shifting weight and numbers. Sometimes it’s a movie, sometimes it’s a diary, and sometimes it’s a therapy assignment. Ultimately, if you like Bruce, and you have a soft spot for stories about sons, fathers, depression and the merry-go-round in Asbury Park, NJ, this one could be for you.

Something to Listen to

More Bruce, but a way less creepy version.

Something to Think About

In South Korea, they primarily use metal chopsticks. Royalty preferred it because it tarnished if touched with poison. Something to keep in mind next time you’re going to breakup dinner over sushi.
