Mechanic. Librarian. Accountant. Hitman. What do these things have in common? They’re all jobs.

After a black and white period piece that earned him 2 Oscars and many more nominations, David Fincher returned to the streamer he helped build up with a new film as stoic, direct and intense as the hitman it stars. The synopsis for The Killer is vague, and it’s probably best it stays that way to fully enjoy it. So, with that it mind let’s just say it follows Michael Fassbender who plays a laser focused assassin while at work. Sometimes work means sitting around, sometimes it means murdering people, and sometimes it means having some serious opinions about late stage capitalism. Sometimes you do good, and sometimes you do bad. We all have jobs. We get it. See, he’s just like one of us.

This film is sharp, straight to the point, gorgeous, thrilling, smart and other good things. When you’re looking for an easy watch of the highest quality, this is a great option.
