Something to Watch - English Teacher

If you’ve recently driven by a billboard for something called English Teacher and thought FX was remaking School of Rock and changing the name, you’re not alone. But fear not. That’s not what they’re doing.

Instead, they made something wholly original and simply delightful. Created by and starring Brian Jordan Alvarez, English Teacher chronicles the every day life of a gay teacher and his coworkers as they try to balance the demands of the students and their parents at a high school in Austin, Texas. But it doesn’t stop there, in the height of a highly woke world, it finds a way to tackle every possible viewpoint on all the hot topics of the day. And, it does it in the most non-preachy, not annoying, insightful and hilarious way ever. It’s not the show we thought we needed, but boy are we lucky to have it. 

By the way, sometimes we tell you not to watch trailers. That’s not the case here. Let this one rip.
