Something to Watch - The Picture of Dorian Gray

To bear witness to this play is to be humbled. If you’ve ever stood next to a redwood, seen the Great Pyramids of Giza, or had a buffalo chicken cheesesteak from Campos in Old City, you know the feeling.

The Picture of Dorian Gray is a masterclass in all trades above and below the line. Sarah Snook stars as (enter list of every single character in this novel) and for 2 full hours recites the entire thing straight through playing every single person. Not only is the book itself genius and perhaps more timely now than it was when it was written in 1890, the acting is breathtaking and the directing is hard to wrap your head around.

This is only on Broadway until the end of June. If you’re in New York, go out of your way to see it. If you’re not, New York is beautiful this time of year. Make a trip out of it.

Something to Think About

Back in the 18th and 19th centuries, Medical Students had to bring their own cadavers to school to practice dissecting them. How’d they usually get them? University-supported grave robbing practices. Ah, the good ole days.
